About Us

HIM transforms lives and communities in India and Nepal by equipping people to share the love of God in word and in deed. Our work focuses on spiritually enriching lives, training and equipping pastors, training young people to live effective lives, empowering the underprivileged and oppressed sections of our society, standing for social liberty and human rights, and uplifting women. In the years gone by, the work has evolved and grown, surpassing all initial expectations. However, our core values remain the same. We love God and are inspired by Him to bring hope to the people of India and Nepal.

HIM engage in holistic community development activities including medical care and economic development initiatives. These offer entire Dalit/Tribal/OBC communities opportunities for social growth and welfare. Many of these families have benefitted from these programs and revel in the emancipation they now have.

Also,

  • Inclusive, not exclusive: Committed to the historic Christian faith.

  • Biblical: Committed to authority / inerrancy of scripture; focused on personal / social  righteousness.

  • Ecumenical in spirit. Affirms the spiritual unity of the Church while acknowledging diversity.

  • Freedom in Christ: Emphasizes liberty in the Spirit.

  • Rational plus relational: Affirms that faith, reason and Christian community are compatible.

  • Every HIM fellowship is involved not only in the spiritual aspect of transforming lives and communities, but also in activities that reach out in practical Christian love to meet tangible needs. HIM pastors and members are involved in tutoring children, literacy classes, prison ministry, feeding programs, and other such transformational activities.

  • Bolstered by global partnerships with friends like Dayspring International, the church growth movement within India today through HIM is growing more quickly than ever expected.
